Baron Robert Heinrich von Doblhoff was a student of the Vienna Academy and Academy Julian in Paris where he studied under J.le Febre and T.Fleury. From 1906 the artist lived in Paris, where he was an "Associe des Champs de Mars". In 1907 he travelled to USA, in 1910 to China and Japan. From 1918 the painter worked in Vienna and between 1924 and 1932 visited the United States all together seven times. He preferred to paint portraits.
